It's a mug shot that won't go on your record, just social media.
The Waterloo Regional Police Service, Nutrition for Learning, and the Greater Kitchener Waterloo Chamber of Commerce, have launched the #MugShotSelfie campaign.
They're asking you to purchase a Nutrition for Learning mug, take your #MugShotSelfie, and post the picture on social media.
All proceeds from the sale of the mugs will go towards supporting Nutrition for Learning, a program that offers student nutrition programs in 145 schools in Waterloo Region.
"Our youth are our future and it's important to ensure they have access to nutritional snacks throughout their day to help them learn and grow," said Bryan Larkin, Chief of Police. "This campaign is a fun and easy way for the community to come together while raising awareness and funds for this essential program."
"This fundraiser will help us help the thousands of volunteers on the ground in our Region making these programs happen every day," added Mary D'Alton, Director of Strategic Initiatives and Operations for Nutrition for Learning. "We are grateful for the collaboration of WRPS, the Greater KW Chamber members and Tim Hortons for helping us help students succeed."
Mugs are $10 each (or 12 for $100) and come with a toonie Tim Hortons gift card.
They can be purchased at the following locations:
- Waterloo Regional Police Service headquarters (200 Maple Grove Road, Cambridge)
- Nutrition for Learning (2-495 Waydom Drive, Ayr)
- Greater Kitchener Waterloo Chamber of Commerce (80 Queen Street North, Kitchener)
