Cyclist hospitalized with serious injuries after being hit by vehicle

A 24-year-old cyclist has been taken to a hospital outside of Waterloo Region with serious injuries following a collision with a vehicle.

Regional Police say the cyclist was struck just before 9 p.m. Friday on Northfield Drive, closing the road for several hours between Scotch Line Road and Line 86.

The investigation is still ongoing by the Traffic Services unit, but the area has reopened.
