Cambridge takes on festive look for the filming of a Christmas movie

The filming of Magical Christmas Shoes wraps up Thursday night

The latest project to film in Cambridge has taken on the challenge of making a city in the middle of August look like a small town in the middle of December.

One of the main sets on Ainslie Street, is Reids Chocolate, Candy and Nut shop.

Nearby you will see artificial snowbanks and inside the store, you can see lots of lights and garlands.

Local businesses also seem to appreciate what the movie does for them, Jessie Desuza owner of Classique Boutique thinks it has a trickle-down effect.

"I think people come by and are curious to check out the sets and the movie, may be some of them come in and shop. So for me, it's a good thing."

Another set is located at a residence on Blenheim Road.

The filming has resulted in some road closures in the area, on Parkhill Road between Blair Road and Park Avenue along with intermittent stops along Blenheim Road.

The filming wraps up Thursday night, if you want to check it out it's best to go out at night when everything is lit up.
