1) July Festivals in Waterloo Region
Summer Festival Season is well underway! Take in the Sun Life Financial UpTown Waterloo Jazz Festival July 19-21 outdoors at Waterloo City Centre, featuring all genres of jazz performed by local, national and internationally renowned musicians.
Also happening July 19-21 is the Downtown Kitchener Ribfest & Craft Beer Show in Victoria Park. Enjoy mouth-watering barbequed ribs and chicken, Ontario craft-brewed beer, live entertainment, a Kids Fun Zone and more! The Cambridge Scottish Festival happens July 19-20 in Churchill Park. Highland Dance competitions, pipe bands, caber toss, hammer throw and tug of war are just some of the events that happen during this family-friendly event.
2) Celebrate Diversity
Kultrún World Music Festival brings top talent from around the world to Waterloo Region to help celebrate diversity. It's also known as the region's largest Outdoor Dance Party, so bring the family and get ready to enjoy non-stop music July 13-14 in Victoria Park!
The Cambridge Multicultural Festival happens July 27 in Forbes Park. It features music all day, as well as dance performers, ethnic food and more.
3) Classic Cars and Motorcycles
Cruising on King takes place July 12 in Downtown Kitchener. It features hundreds of classic cars, a Show and Shine in Victoria Park, a classic car parade, and live music.
The K-W and Area Bug Club presents 'Bug Out #38' on July 14 in Heidelberg. There will be air cooled and water cooled Volkswagens, vintage to modern, as well as food, vendors, and a kid's table.
Cruisin' At the Pond happens Wednesday evenings throughout the summer in Baden. Each week hundreds of classic and vintage cars fill the green space by the pond. (This event is weather permitting).
For motorcycle enthusiasts, Rock and Rumble happens July 27 in Downtown Kitchener. Many custom and vintage motorcycles from across Ontario and the U.S. rumble into town to showcase their bikes. Enjoy a free concert, food trucks, craft beer, live boxing and motorcycles!
4) Outdoor Movies
Movies in the Park returns to Waterloo Park this summer! July 11 bring the family to see the LEGO Movie, and July 25 it's Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse.
Shade's Mills Conservation Area in Cambridge presents Movies Under the Stars every Friday night. These family friendly movies happen at the Toyota Amphitheatre: come early to enjoy a campfire (the first 20 children receive a FREE hotdog!)
5) Kitchener Twilight Grand Prix Cycling Race
July 27, Victoria Park in Kitchener
The Nationally Sanctioned Kitchener Twilight Grand Prix is back on Cycling Canada's national calendar for 2019. The route twists through Victoria Park and Downtown Kitchener. There are races for all categories including beginners, master classes, para-cyclists, and elite/pro males and females. Families are encouraged to come, bring your kids and see some great amateur and pro racing up close!
