Kitchener Rangers co-captain Greg Meireles has been suspended five games by the Ontario Hockey League.

Meireles was suspended on the weekend, after delivering a check to Erie Otters defenceman Brendan Kischnick on Friday.

Meireles sat out the first game of his suspension on Saturday, meaning he still has four games to serve.

He'll be back in the Rangers line-up on Sunday, March 8 versus Windsor.
