Free channels, no data caps as Rogers temporarily adjusts its services

The company is trying to make things a little easier for its customers amid the new coronavirus pandemic

Rogers has announced service changes to help consumers and businesses navigate the evolving COVID-19 developments.   

Joe Natale, the CEO of Rogers said in a release that the company is trying to make things a little easier for customers, and connectivity is critical now more than ever.

Long distance calling fees across Canada have been waived until April 30 for wireless and home phone customers. 

The company is also waiving Roam Like Home, Fido Roam and pay-per-use roaming fees and eliminating data usage caps for customers on limited home internet plans until May 31.  

Rogers is pledging to not suspend any service until the end of April for customers experiencing financial difficulties.

A number of family related channels on Rogers Ignite TV and Digital TV are now free until April 30 including Disney, Family Channel, Treehouse, Teletoon and ABC Spark. Premium news services will also be free. 

New channels will continue to be added to the rotation in the coming weeks. 

For people who are able to work from home, Rogers and Microsoft have teamed up to offer their customers Microsoft Teams and Office 365 free for six months.
