The K-W Athlete of the Year ceremony is finally getting underway Tuesday evening after a year-long hiatus and postponement.
The program had been running since 1999 until it was cancelled in 2018. It found new life with support from the Kitchener Sports Association (KSA), and a dedicated group of volunteers.
The awards ceremony was originally set for May, but the pandemic led to its postponement until now. Organizers will be presenting the awards online via Zoom.
Two awards will be presented to local athletes to make up for the lost year.
You catch the proceedings on athleteoftheyear.ca starting at 6 p.m.
