This Saturday (Sept. 19th), 13-year old Maddy Letizi is hosting her 4th annual “Ice Cream for Breakfast” fundraiser in support of Make-a-Wish. Maddy has scoliosis and muscular dystrophy and had seven surgeries before she was nine years old. When she was seven, Maddy was granted her own wish that sent her to Disney World in Florida to meet her favourite characters from the “Frozen” movie. While on that trip, Maddy was allowed to eat ice cream for breakfast every day. She enjoyed it so much, she decided to turn it into a fundraiser. In the past three years, Maddy has raised more than $32,000 and she hopes to raise another $10,000 this year. You can support Maddy by visiting the Stanley Park Community Centre on Saturday between 9-11 and buying ice cream for breakfast. Masks and physical distancing will be in place to support public health measures due to COVID-19. You can find out more information and make a donation online at www.icecreamforbreakfast.ca.
