Riley Gellatly is a grade 8 KWCHEA home-schooled student and he is on a mission to empower 5000 students in KW, ‘one-turn-at-a-time’. His goal is to bring all 5000 of his students together, and break the Guinness World Record for the most people solving the cube at one time. Since starting his mission last September, he has developed a program, formed a club, gathered a team and hasn’t looked back. The Cuber's Corner Club, consisting of family and friends, has over 1,800 students, teachers and principals graduate from the program so far. They have several teams running simultaneously in the schools, teaching up to 8- one hour classes per day, four days a week. They are right on schedule to reaching the goal of 5,000 by June 3rd, 2020 to break the Guinness World Record at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium.  YW Kitchener-Waterloo, a not-for-profit organization is hosting this event and manages all administration for the program. Jump on board the program and volunteer! Sponsor a student for $25; an average class for $625; an average size school for $5000; or even the entire event for $125,000.  And please donate to the program! They need help to continue supplying cubes, instruction booklets, graphic slide presentations, videography, transportation to schools, certificates and so much more. You can sign up for all of these on his website at https://www.cuberscornerclub.com/. You can also find them on Facebook, Instagram, Youtube and other social media platforms. All donations will receive an immediate tax receipt from YW Kitchener-Waterloo.
