Logan Scherer developed leukemia in July of 2018 at the age of four. Logan is being treated at McMaster Children’s Hospital in Hamilton. He is now in remission, but his journey will continue for three years of treatment. On Saturday, September 14th, a fundraiser will be held at the Italian-Canadian Club in Guelph (72 Brant Avenue). Join Logan’s supporters for an evening of dinner, music, and dancing. The funds from this event will financially support expenses incurred throughout Logan’s treatments. Proceeds will also be donated to support The Nolan Melchin Memorial Foundation and The Ronald McDonald House in Hamilton. http://italiancanadianclubguelph.ca/event/logans-journey-fundraiser/
Fridays at First is a cold weather meal and community program that is part of KW Out of the Cold. It is one of four that continued after the overnight programs collapsed a few years ago. We provide a time of community and a meal to anyone who comes on any Friday night from November through mid April. A number of local businesses have offered support and volunteers have rallied so that we can host a Labour Day Lunch on Monday, September 2nd at First United Church in Waterloo. https://regionofwaterloo.cioc.ca/record/CND0770
