The 15th annual Taste Local, Taste Fresh celebration of local food and local farmers is Sunday, September 9th, 2-5 p.m. at Steckle Heritage Farm in Kitchener. Guests will be able to spend a delightful afternoon tasting delectable local food creations among the charming grounds of Steckle Farm, a heritage designated property and working farm right in the City of Kitchener! Much of the event will take place within a breathtaking post and beam style barn dating back to 1840. Some 20 original food creations prepared by farmer/chef teams will be featured offering participants an opportunity to sample mouth-watering recipes showcasing local foods and farm-fresh products. The 22nd annual East Indian Community Walkathon takes place on Sunday, September 16th, at Siri Guru Singh Sabha (1070 Townline Road, Cambridge), starting at 10 a.m. Enjoy the six-kilometre walking route as well as raffles and silent auctions as Waterloo Region’s East Indian community comes together to raise funds for Cambridge Memorial Hospital. https://www.facebook.com/
This Sunday is the annual "Walk to Remember and Butterfly Release." You're invited to come down the Dedication Centre at Williamsburg Cemetery, on Fischer Hallman Rd. from 1-3 p.m., where loved ones who have passed can have Monarch butterflies released in their memory. There will be music, face painting and refreshments. The butterfly release will begin at 2:30 p.m.
