Provincial Police have charged a 45-year-old Stratford man with impaired driving after a crash in Mitchell this past weekend.

They say it happened just after 11 a.m. on Saturday, as officers and emergency crews responded to Huron Road.

On arrival, they found a sports car had left the roadway, allegedly colliding with two parked vehicles.

The second parked vehicle then careened into a third parked vehicle, which in turn struck a residence.

In the end, three parked vehicles, a home, a tree and three front yards were all heavily damaged.

When officers spoke to the driver, they noted that the driver had consumed alcohol and was showing signs of impairment. They were placed under arrest, and samples of his breath were later found to be over the legal limit.

He now has a court appearance scheduled for September 21, 2020.
