One person injured after crash with tractor trailer carrying chickens: OPP

(NORTH PERTH, ON) - Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Perth County detachment, Perth County Paramedic Services and North Perth Fire Department attended the scene of a motor vehicle collision on September 17, 2018 which sent one person to hospital, and resulted in a road closure.


The single motor vehicle collision involving a tractor trailer occurred shortly before 9:00 a.m. on Perth Road 164 at Perth Line 90 in the Municipality of North Perth. The driver was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The trailer was carrying a load of chickens when the collision occurred. 


The Ministry of Transportation and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency were contacted, and the roadway has been closed to allow for the safe removal of the motor vehicle and cargo.


An investigation continues into the incident, and motorists should expect the closure to continue for the next few hours.
