Jays Care Foundation hosting 'Girls At Bat' game in Bright on Sunday

It's a development program that works with over 1,200 girls in five provinces

On August 25th, Jays Care Foundation will be hosting its annual Girls At Bat All-Star Game just outside of Kitchener, featuring exceptional athletes from across Ontario. Played on a scenic field modeled after the iconic diamond in Field of Dreams, Sunday’s event will celebrate the third season of Girls At Bat in Canada. 

Girls At Bat is Jays Care’s baseball for development program that works with over 1,200 girls in five Canadian provinces. The program encourages girls to participate in sport, and works with female coaches to provide positive role models, while using baseball as a tool to build confidence, leadership, and communication skills. 

Coaches from the Girls At Bat program, and the All-Star athletes themselves will be on site and available for interviews to speak more about the program and their personal experiences. Phone interviews with Jays Care representatives can be arranged prior to, or following the event.

About Girls At Bat: Jays Care Foundation is proud to run the Girls At Bat program in five provinces across Canada reaching over 1,200 girls. Girls At Bat works with several partners across the country to bring inclusive and high quality programming to children and youth. Programs are structured to use the game of baseball to encourage physical activity, and the development of social skills and leadership. Jays Care Foundation provides training to Girls At Bat coaches, at a multi-day clinic, which provides them with the resources they need to run a wide range of drills, games, and activities that teaches athletes life skills.
