Guelph man arrested in connection to attempted murder investigation

Guelph Police say an arrest has been made in connection to an attempted murder investigation.

Officers responded to a plaza on Clair Road West September 3, 2018 around 3:30 a.m. after reports a man was suffering from stab wounds.

The man was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries, and underwent emergency surgery.

Uniform Patrol, the Tactical and Rescue Unit, and the Investigative Service arrested a 39-year-old Guelph man at a Baxter Drive home on Friday.

He faces charges of Attempt Murder, Weapons Dangerous and Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, and is scheduled to appear in court tomorrow for a bail hearing.

Guelph Police say there are no further suspects, and are thanking the community for cooperation during the investigation.
