Ontario Provincial Police in Norfolk County are reminding the public that although Friday the 13th is this week, we are still in the midst of a pandemic.
Officers are asking those planning to attend Port Dover this year, to abide by the current COVID-19 restrictions in place across the province.
This means, always wear a mask, sanitize your hands frequently, and no more than 25 people are allowed in a group outdoors.
If gatherings are taking place indoors, no more than 10 people together at any given time.
Norfolk County is in the provincially mandated "yellow zone", and OPP are asking attendees to make their safety a priority.
"The motoring public is being asked to take those two extra seconds before making a lane change or proceeding through an intersection due to the possibility of increased traffic," said Inspector Joseph Varga, Norfolk County OPP, in a release. "Those two seconds can make the difference between life and death."
