On August 20, 2019, at approximately 8:00 a.m., a member of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Perth County detachment, observed a motor vehicle travelling on Perth Line 72 near the village of Donegal in the Municipality of North Perth. The vehicle was determined to be travelling at a rate of speed that exceeded the posted speed limit by 50 km/hr and was stopped by police.

Kenneth FAIRHALL, 51-years-old, of Wilmot Township was charged with the following;

Race a motor vehicle - Excessive Speed

His driver's licence was seized and a driving suspension was imposed. The vehicle was towed and impounded as per statute.

He is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Stratford on a later date to answer the charges.

The OPP wants to remind driver's that speeding reduces the amount of available time needed to avoid a collision and increases the severity of a collision once it does occur.

If you observe concerning driving behaviour, pull over and call police at 1-888-310-1122. For emergencies, dial 9-1-1.
