Waterloo man facing charges after police seize drugs and stolen bike

On Monday, October 7, 2019, at approximately 2:30 a.m., Waterloo Regional Police stopped a male on a bicycle in the area of Bridgeport Road East in Waterloo for a traffic violation. 

During the investigation, police determined through the bicycle’s serial number that the bicycle was stolen. 

As a result of the investigation, police seized suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, and a prohibited weapon. 

A 48-year-old Waterloo male faces numerous charges, including possession of stolen property, possession of a prohibited weapon and drug-related offences. 

The stolen bicycle was returned to its rightful owner. 

Waterloo Regional Police would like to remind the public to securely store bicycles, keep a record of serial numbers and report any suspicious activity to police.
