Two Kitchener residents among those hurt in head-on crash near Woodstock

OPP say charges are pending

Ontario Provincial Police say charges are pending following a head-on crash on Highway 59 in Norwich Township.

It happened Saturday around 4:30 p.m. near Gunn's Hill Road.

OPP allege the driver of an SUV crossed the centre line, hitting a pickup truck that was pulling a boat head-on.

The driver of the SUV had to be extricated from the vehicle.

Two passengers were also hurt, one was airlifted to a London hospital and is now listed in critical condition.

The driver and passenger in the pickup, both 33 and from Kitchener, suffered minor injuries.

Anyone who possibly witnessed the collision is asked to call the Oxford County OPP Detachment at 1-888-310-1122. 

"I would like to thank all the emergency response workers and Good Samaritans that assisted with this collision. Their dedication and commitment to our community is unwavering. I would also like to extend my thoughts to the drivers/passengers and family members affected as a result of this incident." Inspector Tony Hymers, Detachment Commander with Oxford County OPP said in a release.
