Three arrested in stolen vehicle

Police say it's connected to a residential break and enter

On March 25, 2020, at approximately 1:43 p.m., members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service's Break and Enter and Auto Theft team arrested three individuals in a stolen vehicle.

The vehicle had been stolen as a result of a residential break and enter that occurred the previous night while the homeowners were sleeping.

During the break and enter suspects gained entry to the residence by the use of a garage door opener that they obtained from an unlocked vehicle.

While inside the residence, the suspects stole personal identity documents and keys to the vehicle. As a result of the investigation, one male and two females from Cambridge were charged numerous offences including break and enter, motor vehicle theft, use of credit card, occupy stolen motor vehicle and possession of a controlled substance.

To help prevent a break and enter, police would like to remind homeowners to ensure their vehicles are locked and their homes are secure even when they are home.
