Regional police welcome 11 new officers

The Waterloo Regional Police Service, while adhering to Public Health guidelines, proudly welcomed members of Recruit Class #105. The new officers were sworn in during a private ceremony on May 21, 2021.

Eleven new constables have recently completed their basic training at the Ontario Police College and have received their police badges. 

“Congratulations. You being here today is a testament to your abilities and your commitment to this Service and the Waterloo Region,” said Bryan Larkin, Chief of Police. “Although the past three months have been challenging, you have all persevered and worked towards the common goal of serving and protecting the community.” 

These new officers bring experience from a variety of former careers, as well as post-secondary education, in the following fields: Records Information Management Specialist, Special Constable, Developmental Support Worker, Professional Soccer Player, Casino Security Management, Municipal Law Enforcement Officer, Veterinarian Manager, Political Science and Criminology, Criminal Justice and Sociology, and Masters Criminal Justice and Leadership.
