Regional police have made an arrest after a stabbing incident in the Sheldon Avenue North and King Street East area of Kitchener.
According to the service, that incident occurred on Tuesday morning shortly after 6:00 a.m.
Responding to a report of a male chasing another man with a knife, regional police said officers located the suspect shortly after arrival and made an arrest.
The victim being chased by the suspect was not located.
Shortly afterward, police received a report of another male that had been stabbed in the area.
Through a police investigation, it was determined that the same suspect had stabbed another victim, a 72-year-old male, who had fled the area to seek assistance prior to police arrival at the scene.
That second victim was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A 19-year-old male now faces several charges, and is being held in custody for a bail hearing.

Charges include Assault Cause Bodily Harm, Assault with a Weapon and Possession of a Weapon.
