A Waterloo Regional Police officer was treated for minor injuries after being struck with a metal object.
It happened when police responded to a 911 disturbance call at a residence in the Mount Hope Huron Park area of Kitchener, early Tuesday morning.
A conducted energy weapon was then used on the man who allegedly hit the officer.
The suspect was treated at the scene by paramedics for minor injuries.
A 21-year-old Kitchener man now faces charges including assault, assault with a weapon, assault with intent to resist arrest and uttering threats.
The accused is being held for a bail hearing.
