Police investigating three-vehicle collision in Waterloo

On May 4, 2021, at approximately 5:20 p.m., Waterloo Regional Police responded to reports of a three-vehicle collision in the area of Erb Street West and Westmount Road South in Waterloo. 

A Chevrolet Spark was travelling east on Erb Street West when the driver crossed the centerline and collided with a Nissan Altima and a Kia Amanti, which were both travelling west. 

The driver of the Chevrolet, a 32-year-old Waterloo male, and a young child were transported to a hospital by Region of Waterloo Paramedic Services with minor injuries. 

The drivers of the Nissan and Kia were treated by paramedics at the scene and did not require further medical attention. 

Westbound lanes of the roadway were closed while Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Traffic Unit investigated. 

The cause of the collision is still under investigation; however, alcohol is not considered a factor.
