Waterloo Regional Police have provided an update on two incidents from last week, where females were either approached or followed.

Both happened on Thursday, September 24.

Around 6 p.m., a 12-year-old girl who was walking in the area of Fairway Road North and Pebble Creek Drive in Kitchener, was approached by a man driving a red Ford Ranger pickup truck.

Police say he tried to covince her to get into his vehicle, she fled and was not hurt.

Then at 7 p.m., a woman jogging in the area of King Street East and Bishop Street South in Cambridge, was allegedly followed by a man driving a red Ford Ranger pickup.

Police believe a 72-year-old Aylmer man is a suspect in both incidents.

The suspect was arrested Friday by a police service outside of the region for other offences, and a warrant has been issued so the suspect can be brought before the courts in Waterloo Region.

Police want to hear from anyone who has information about the two incidents or any incidents that are similar in nature.
