Police find over 30 cannabis plants in vehicle they stopped for speeding

What was orginally a traffic stop due to speeding, has turned into a lot more charges for a Cambridge man.

On Tuesday evening, police allegedly nabbed a vehicle travelling over 90 km/h in a 50 km/h community safety zone on Blair Road.

Police say while speaking with the driver, 33 cannabis plants were observed within the vehicle.

As a result, a 64-year-old man has been charged with the following:

  • Possession of more than four cannabis plants in a public place
  • Cannabis readily available to the driver
  • Speeding
  • Failing to surrender an insurance card
