On May 29, 2019 at 6:42 p.m., an off-duty Peel Regional Police officer called in a possible impaired driver. The vehicle had been on the Hanlon Expressway and turned east on Woodlawn Road. The vehicle had extensive front-end damage.

The vehicle eventually stopped at a parking lot at Woodlawn Road and Woolwich Street. The officer detained the female driver until Guelph Police arrived. The 25-year-old Cambridge woman has been charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration and operation while impaired - alcohol. She was also charged under the Highway Traffic Act with drive – no licence. She will appear in court on June 14, 2019.
