Man facing impaired charge after police find driver slumped over in vehicle

The accused is also charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking

A man from North Bay is facing a long list of charges following a traffic stop in Kitchener.

Just before 11 a.m. on Saturday, police received word about a driver slumped over in a vehicle that was running, in the area of Frederick Street and Weber Street East.

As a result, a driver was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle.

During a search, police also found suspected cocaine and methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia (including scales and packaging) and weapons. 

A 37-year-old man was also charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, two counts of possession of a Schedule 1 substance, and three counts of possession of a prohibited weapon.

He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
