Man charged after dog was allegedly dragged behind motorized bike in Kitchener

A charge has been laid in connection with an animal cruelty case in the Doon area of Kitchener.

Police were called to Southridge Drive on Thursday evening after receiving a report about an injured animal.

They allege a dog was being dragged behind a motorized bike, being operated by a male. The dog suffered minor injuries.

The owner has been charged with one count of cruelty to animals - causing unnecessary suffering. Police also say the Provincial Animal Welfare Service is continuing to investigate the incident.
