London man charged after police find stolen vehicle in Kitchener

Officers were doing proactive enforcement after recent reports of thefts from vehicles

On October 22, 2020, at approximately 4:30 a.m., Waterloo Regional Police conducted proactive enforcement in the area of Highland Road and Queen Street area due to recent reports of thefts from motor vehicles.

Officers located a stolen motor vehicle driving in the area Highland Road West, Kitchener.

Uniformed Patrol units from Central and North Divisions responded to the area to assist in safely locating and stopping the vehicle.

The vehicle was located abandoned on Lois Street in Kitchener.

Officers set up containment in the area.

As a result, officers located the male hiding in the rear yard of a residence.

The male was arrested without incident.

As a result of the investigation a 26-year-old London male was charged with Possession of stolen property under $5000,00, Dangerous Driving, Possession of a prohibited weapon, Carry concealed weapon, Possession for the purpose of trafficking, Breach court order, Operation of motor vehicle while prohibited.
