A Kitchener GO train had to be cancelled due to a police investigation Friday night.

The train that left Kitchener just after 8:30 p.m. had to hold west of Guelph, and eventually was cancelled.

According to Metrolinx, some people were spotted near the tracks by a passing VIA Train

Out of caution, it called in Regional Police to investigate. Police say they came in, but did not locate anyone on or near the tracks.

Passengers at all stations on the line were accommodated by buses to Union Station.
