Driver facing several impaired charges after crash in Cambridge

A driver is facing a long list of charges following a collision in Cambridge, which put a motorcyclist in hospital.

The crash happened shortly after 7 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Main Street and Elgin Street North.

Police say the motorcycle was headed south on Elgin, when an SUV, travelling east on Main, allegedly did not stop for a red light.

The rider of the motorcycle sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital outside of the region.

The driver of the SUV was arrested at the scene and faces charges including, failing to stop for a red light, impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm, and driving while under suspension.
