A Cambridge driver is facing several charges, including impaired driving, following a traffic stop in Bluewater over the weekend.
The stop was initiated Saturday evening, when an Ontario Provincial Police officer observed a vehicle racing towards him on the Bluewater Highway.
Through radar, the officer confirmed the vehicle was travelling at double the posted speed limit of 80 km/h.
When speaking with the driver, police allege the driver had consumed some alcohol, so a roadside screening test was done.
The result was a fail, so breath tests were then done at an OPP detachment, where both tests were analyzed to be over the legal limit.
In addition to the impaired charge, 22-year-old Nicholas Misener has also been charged with dangerous driving, and racing a motor vehicle.
He's due to appear in a Goderich court on September 14.
