On November 9, 2019, at approximately 5 p.m., Waterloo Regional Police received a report of a robbery that occurred in a parking lot on Rose Street in Cambridge.
The victims had arranged to meet a buyer to sell an item that they had advertised on a buy and sell online site.
During the interaction, a suspect sprayed one of the victims with a noxious substance and fled the area with the victim's item.
The victim sustained minor injuries as a result of the incident.
On Wednesday, November 13, 2019, Waterloo Regional Police arrested a young person from Kitchener in connection to this incident.
He has been charged with Robbery and Possession of Stolen Property in relation to this occurrence.
Police are reminding members of the public to be vigilant when buying and selling items in online forums.
