Another driver from Kitchener charged with racing

It follows a traffic stop in Alma on Boxing Day

On December 26, 2019, at approximately 12:30 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was monitoring traffic on Peel Street East in the Hamlet of Alma. 

The officer observed a red sedan travelling above the posted 50 km/h speed limit. 

The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 115 km/h.

As a result, Hugh David NEVIN, 18-years-old of Kitchener, has been charged with Racing a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. 

The defendant is scheduled to appear in Guelph at the Ontario Court of Justice - Provincial Offences Court on March 18, 2020. Their vehicle and driver's licence were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
