WRPS, Laurier to host Special Olympics Ontario basketball tournament

It will take place Saturday at Laurier's Athletic Complex

The Waterloo Regional Police Service is proud to partner with Wilfrid Laurier University to host the 2020 Special Olympics Ontario High-Performance Basketball Tournament.

The tournament will take place on February 15, 2020.

Waterloo Regional Police Chief Bryan Larkin and President and Vice-Chancellor of Laurier Deborah MacLatchy will put their skills to the test during a competitive free throw contest. The contest will include athletes on each team.  

"The Waterloo Regional Police Service is a long-time supporter of the Special Olympics, and we are excited to take part in this spirited basketball tournament," said Bryan Larkin, Chief of Police. "Special Olympics is about more than sports, and we are looking forward to a day filled with action, fun and entertainment."

Join us for this free and exciting event from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., with the free throw contest at noon.

The excitement will take place at Laurier’s Athletic Complex, located at 75 University Ave W, Waterloo.
