Waterloo's Kyle Wood has re-signed with the NHL's San Jose Sharks.
It's a one-year deal and as per club policy, financial terms were not disclosed.
The 23-year-old played 68 games with the San Jose Barracuda (Sharks' AHL affiliate) last season, registering six goals and 29 assists.
"Kyle's game as a reliable defenseman with offensive prowess has continued to progress since we acquired him last summer." Sharks General Manager, Doug Wilson said in a release. "He has proven to be a good skater and possesses a rare combination of size and skill on the blueline. We are excited to have him continue to contribute to our organization."
Wood, who played junior hockey with the North Bay Battalion, was originally a third round pick of Colorado in the 2014 NHL Draft.
He was acquired by San Jose from Arizona in June of 2018.
