A lot of National Hockey League players take a mini holiday over the NHL All-Star break.
That will not be the case for Gabriel Landeskog and Jeff Skinner.
Both former Kitchener Rangers were voted into the annual game by the fans.
This will be Landeskog's first appearance in an NHL All-Star Game. The 26-year-old has 51 points and is part of the top scoring line in hockey with Colorado teammates Mikko Rantanen and Nathan MacKinnon.
He told nhl.com getting voted in by the fans was extra special.
"Those are the ones that support us on a nightly basis and travel all around the world to see us play," Landeskog said. "Whether they are in Sweden, Canada, the U.S. or Denver, it means a lot."
For Skinner, it will be his second appearance in the annual showcase.
The Buffalo Sabres forward is tied for second in the NHL with 29 goals and first with seven game winners.
Former Rangers goalie John Gibson (Anaheim Ducks) will also play in the game along with Kitchener native Mark Scheifele (Winnipeg Jets).
The 2019 Honda NHL All-Star Game will take place in San Jose on January 26. You can watch it on Sportsnet at 8 p.m.
