Kitchener's Borroto and Nivins named first team IBL All-Stars

The Intercounty Baseball League has announced its All-Star teams for the 2019 season.

Kitchener Panthers shortstop Yorbis Borroto and outfielder Tanner Nivins were both named to the first team.

Two Panthers players and the team's manager also landed on the second team of All-Stars - Brian Burton, Yoennis Yera and Luke Baker.

On Tuesday, Barrie first baseman Jordan Castaldo was also named Rawlings IBL Most Valuable Player for 2019.

He finished the season with a .453 average, 15 home runs and 47 RBI.

Kitchener lost the IBL championship to Barrie on Saturday, for the Baycats it was their sixth straight title.
