The football team at Wilfrid Laurier University still has a shot at the post-season.
They kept that hope alive with a 39-24 victory over the Windsor Lancers in a school day game at Waterloo's University Stadium on Friday morning.
It was also a record setting day for Golden Hawks wide receiver Kurleigh Gittens Jr. and kicker Nathan Mesher.
With his eight receptions, Gittens Jr. became just the fifth player in U Sports history to reach 200 receptions in a career.
He also overtook former Lancer Jordan Brescacin for the OUA record.
Meantime, Mesher moved into first on Laurier's career scoring list.
His 15 points in the game gives him 275 for his career, five more than former record holder Chris Mamo.
Laurier (4 and 3) wraps up the regular season at Western next Saturday.
