The NHL's second season, the Stanley Cup Playoffs begin with five games on Wednesday, April 10.

Here's a look at the players and coaches, with connections to Waterloo, who will be trying to win the Stanley Cup:

Boston Bruins

-Defenceman John Moore played for the Kitchener Rangers

Calgary Flames

-Waterloo native Geoff Ward is an assistant coach. He was also a former coach with the Kitchener Rangers

Colorado Avalanche

-Winger Gabriel Landeskog played junior hockey with the Kitchener Rangers

Columbus Blue Jackets

-Gregory Campbell is a development coach. He played with the Kitchener Rangers

-Cambridge native Brad Shaw is an assistant coach with the team. Also lived in Kitchener

Dallas Stars

-Centre Radek Faksa played junior hockey with the Kitchener Rangers

Nashville Predators

-Defenceman Ryan Ellis played minor hockey in Cambridge

-Defenceman Yannick Weber is a former Kitchener Rangers player

New York Islanders

-Piero Greco is the team's goaltending coach. He is a former goaltending coach with the Kitchener Rangers

San Jose Sharks

-Peter DeBoer is the team's head coach and Steve Spott is an assistant. Both coached the Kitchener Rangers

St. Louis Blues

-Defenceman Robert Bortuzzo played junior hockey with the Kitchener Rangers

-Mike Van Ryn is an assistant coach. He was once a head coach with the Kitchener Rangers

Toronto Maple Leafs

-Centre Nazem Kadri is a former Kitchener Rangers player

Washington Capitals

-Kitchener native Brett Leonhardt is a video coach with the team. He brought the Stanley Cup home to Waterloo Region when the Capitals won it last year

-St. Clements native Scott Murray is a goaltending coach with the Caps

Winnipeg Jets

-Centre Bryan Little is a Cambridge native

-Centre Mark Scheifele is from Kitchener
