University football is back this weekend, but the COVID-19 pandemic is still the reality in this country, so there are certain restrictions in place.
To start off, there are capacity limits for both University Stadium at Laurier (900) and Warrior Field at Waterloo (1,000).
In addition, both schools require fans to complete a screening, provide proof of vaccination and show that, the ticket and a government issued ID at the gate.
Both have mandatory masking in place, but the way food concessions are being handled differ from school to school.
At UW, masks can be removed in your seat when eating or drinking, and they have assigned seating.
At Laurier, only beverages will be allowed in the bleachers, but there won't be any alcohol on sale. Food options will be limited, and fans will have a restricted area within the west endzone to eat.
Despite the restrictions, tickets are a hot commodity. Waterloo confirms that tickets to its season opener Saturday are sold out.
