CEO Sandy Dietrich-Bell tells The Mike Farwell Show that the agency’s current site on Queen Street in downtown Kitchener has been sold and a new home will have to be found by September. The agency – whose mission is to maintain the health and safety of youth experiencing or at-risk of homelessness – served more than 650 youth in 2017. Dietrich-Bell says she’s been speaking with Kitchener mayor Berry Vrbanovic about possible new locations but she’s looking for a “white knight” in the community to come forward with an offer of new space.

The town of Elmira is getting set to host the 2019 Ontario Men’s and Women’s Curling Championships. Ten men’s teams and eight women’s teams will compete for the Ontario title at the Woolwich Memorial Centre from January 27th to February 3rd. A team of 200 volunteers has rallied to support the championships, with the winners earning the right to represent Ontario at the 2019 Scotties Tournament of Hearts and Tim Horton’s Brier, respectively.
