Waterloo man facing racing charge

OPP allegedly nabbed a vehicle doing over 135 km/h on the Hanlon in Guelph

On Sunday March 24, 2019, at approximately 4:50 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was monitoring traffic and conducting speed enforcement on the Hanlon Expressway near Laird Road. The officer observed a grey sedan travelling northbound at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 80 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 135 km/h.

Noushad NAQVI, 52-years -old of Waterloo has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and is scheduled to appear in Guelph Provincial Court on May 1, 2019. His driver's licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
