** Update: The outbreak was declared over on September 23 **

Cambridge Memorial Hospital and the Region of Waterloo Public Health, have enforced a visitor restriction due to an enteric outbreak.

The decision was made on September 18th after the outbreak has impacted the Inpatient Mental Health area.

Level 4 of Wing B will now only let patients have one visitor until no new cases of the outbreak appear for five days.

CMH says the current symptoms of the illness circulating include vomiting and diarrhea.

The hospital has posted signs at their entrances and at the entrance of the Inpatient Mental Heath area.

CMH says the environment is being cleaned and disinfected more and precautions are in place for staff and volunteers.

Residents are being reminded to not visit a loved one at a hospital if they're feeling unwell.
