A memorial service is being held by the University of Waterloo to honour the memories of two PhD students.

Marzieh Foroutan and Mansour Esnaashary Esfahani were among 57 Canadians who were killed when a Ukrainian passenger plane crashed minutes after take-off from Tehran's main airport.

The memorial service will be held on Wednesday at 12:00 p.m. in Federation Hall at UW. A live stream will be available for those who can't attend.

A book of condolences is set up at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home in Waterloo until Sunday.

The University of Guelph is also honouring two PhD students, Ghanimat Azdahri and Milad Ghasemi Ariani, during a moment of silence at 1 p.m. on Wednesday in Branion Plaza.
