Two people who ran Ponzi scheme to spend more time in prison

April Vuong and Hao Quach, who used to live in Waterloo Region, were both sentenced to six years in prison

Two former Waterloo Region residents have had sentences stiffened in the wake of a fraud case led by Peel Regional Police.

April Vuong and Hao Quach were both sentenced to six years in prison, restitution in the amount of over $3.5-million with ten years to pay after being found guilty of fraud in July.

Police say they were involved in an elaborate Ponzi scheme.

They have now been sentenced to a further five years behind bars for defaulting on their original sentencing obligations.
