***The special weather statement was lifted early Friday morning***
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Waterloo Region and Wellington County.
The national weather agency says several rounds of showers will move through the area beginning this afternoon.
Embedded isolated thunderstorms are also possible, and rainfall amounts could range between 10 and 25 mm by late this evening.
The conditions have the Grand River Conservation Authority keeping a close eye on local waterways, as a combined flood warning and watch remains in effect for the watershed.
Due to rising water levels, the Low Level Bridge on Three Bridges Road in Woolwich has been closed until further notice.
