Solar panels damaged during break in at Waterloo school

Police are looking for the suspect or suspects who recently broken into a Waterloo school.

They say the break in at St. Luke Elementary School on Chesapeake Drive happened some time between Thursday, July 8 and Wednesday, July 11.

Over $10,000 in damage was done to solar panels on the school's roof.

Solar technicians are warning there is a safety concern as live, electrical amperage is exposed on the damaged panels, so replacement efforts are underway.
