Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Waterloo Region.

The national weather agency says a cold front is moving across southern Ontario, and that could lead to the development of severe thunderstorms this afternoon and early evening.

They're warning of possible strong wind gusts, large hail, and heavy rain.

The severe thunderstorm watch is also in effect for Guelph and Wellington County.
